I love this, thank you for writing and sharing this. I’ve recently been deepening into my Christian faith but have honestly been feeling confused and alone in how I feel about the Church. This came at the exact perfect time for me.
Wow! "Wow" seems so inadequate to express how deeply this resonates with me. I'm preaching in a fortnight, and I'm contemplating sharing this with the congregation, because fresh expressions of faith and truth are a fantastic lens through which to examine our own understanding of who God is & what we believe. I'm definitely going to be signing my small group up for your Lent reflections.
Beautiful and so true. Love thy neighbor as thy self. Not unless he's Trans. It's infuriating to me, a long-time Christian, that hate is the driving force behind motives, disguised as good. Remember Good will be bad and bad will be good. I'm a woke Christian and feel terrible guilt about my child not being able to come out, for fear of letting us down. I cry myself to sleep over it. She is brilliant and so sweet and loving. I'm in terror that the world and President Trump doesn't give them rights as human beings. Devastating
Thisis gorgeous, Dr. Chanequa. And thank you for the invitation to gather. I am excited to host a group and journey through this sacred text you've gifted us all.
Dr. Chanequa - this is the most refreshing thing I’ve read this year! I’m going to bookmark this and refer to it often. The news is so upsetting these days and I need this to stay centered in Who and Whose I am. This is a creed I can give my heart to.
Greetings Dr. Chanequa,I am a huge fan of yours, your ministry, and your spirit.
You and I have crossed paths at Samuel Dewitt Proctor a few times and your book, Too Heavy a Yoke broke my ego open a bit wider to see the racism I continue to wrestle with. It helped me realize that antiracism work is not a book or a seminar to complete. It is a life long spiritual journey towards real healthy living.
I Bring the Voices of My People is another spectacular book that I keep close at hand.
I am a pastor serving at Leslie Congregational UCC in Leslie MI.
It is just wonderful and speaks to my core beliefs and understanding about the movement of God in our midst.
Thank you for who you are the world. I need these many and varied touchstones of goodness as a means to stay in touch with the goodness of the God alive in our world.

Blessings of love, wisdom and strength for a time such as this.
PS. Hope to see you and say heya at the SDPC in a couple of weeks.
