This sounds... almost exactly like my gardening plight except it's a container garden. I too regularly kill succulents... May our seeds be b blessed with more of our presence, well-amended soil, relief from the scorching 2024 heat and sun, and what they need to grow π«Άπ½
This is a beautiful essay that touched my gardener's heart deeply. I keep trying, with some success, because the garden is still a miracle. every. single. time.
I love flower gardening but decided to try my hand at growing veggies after my brother told me to plant something that we could eat. First, I tried planting in the ground near our back fence. My fear of snakes kept me from caring for it. Last year, I planted in pots but they did poorly. This year, I only tried tomatoes and was able to eat about 5 small ones before it withered. I'll give tomatoes a try next year and stick with my flowers.

Beautiful! Gardening is a metaphor for the work we do/ life does on our hearts! Sending you peace!
