Thank you for sharing some valid points. My hope is that we will all learn to be proactive in positive ways and not wait for something to happen before we react.

Huge thanks for this, Sis. Having lost my father in 1991 (age 49), my brother in 2013 (age 35), and my FIL in 2021 (age 71), means that my son (28) and I (soon to be 57) are the men in the family. Not to mention the five out nine uncle’s who’ve died before becoming seniors.

I tell my family often that those beautiful men should still be here.

The factors related to their deaths are personal AND structural. I have spent my ministry career focused on the structural, but these days remembering the wisdom of reflections like yours today to be a steward of my health.

I’m getting better at it, and your words are a real help. Blessings & Peace āœŒšŸ¾

The structural really is personal, isn’t it?

We just had a family reunion on my husband’s side and again I grieved the loss of all the elders.

Thank you sister. Admittedly I haven’t been to the doctor since I’ve moved here to the south. As a Father’s Day gift to myself, I’m going to book one now. Thank you, for loving us.
