Dr Chanequa - thank you for this lovely Creed - I have shared a reflection on it in a post scheduled for tonight. You provided medicine for the Sunday I just had to celebrate as a minister serving in Lutheran and Anglican contexts. My post referencing and citing your post will go live tonight. I embedded a subscribe button to your substack :) God bless you!
The Christian community has always rendered its statements of faith in terms that speak to the moment in which they live -- this is a brilliant and necessary statement that speaks to this moment, a moment of pain and challenge and deep love. Thank you!
I am still pondering the Spirit as the Great Exhalation of God....thank you for this metaphor and for sharing your love of Jesus and justice in creedal form.
So much resonates, beautiful Dr. C! It reminds me of the language within the Indigenous NT. And, I have been pondering how All of This relates to the Spiral Dynamics of Thought Development within our human species.
Are you referring to the First Nations translation of the Bible or a different one? I bought the First Nations version when it was released but admittedly I haven’t looked at it very much.
Yes... I love the translation and especially use the Beatitudes quite often in group settings. IVP now has the Psalms & Proverbs, which sold out at CCDA this year. Their reps told me the entire Bible is scheduled for 2030... Though, should a Womanist Bible be published, I'm All In for that!!
Every word… felt, heard, needed. Thank you.
This is truly a creed for 21st century communities of faith.
That’s such a honor!

As creeds go--this is a long one. However, it is amazing and powerful. It feels truer to our times.
Beautiful metaphors and truth anchors.

What a beautiful and powerful testimony of faith!

The funny thing is that I can’t remember whether I made that up or if I’d heard it somewhere.
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!
