It’s time to take Sacred Self-Care back to its roots as a Lent study. I’ve done this previously on Instagram and Facebook. I’m delighted to move it to its new home here. If you’re new here or this is your first time going through the book, welcome! And if you’ve followed this challenge with me before, welcome back! I hope that it helps all of us to reinforce our existing self-care practices and begin some new ones.
Yep, I said “all of us” because I’ll be doing the practices along with you. Lent is the time of year where I try to focus on deepening and reinvigorating self-care.
If you are already subscribed to No Trifling Matter, you will need to sign up for the Lent Study section in your account settings.
About the Lent Study
Beginning on Monday, February 12, this online study of Sacred Self-Care takes us on a transformative journey of self-discovery and spiritual nourishment. In this seven week exploration, we delve into the wisdom of the book, discovering practical and soulful ways to integrate self-care practices into the Lenten season. This study combines discussion forums and Zoom gatherings to provide a supportive community where participants can share insights, reflections, and personal experiences. Through the lens of sacred self-care, we aim to deepen our connection with God, cultivate mindfulness, and foster a renewed commitment to nurturing our whole selves during this sacred season of the Christian year. Join us in this meaningful exploration and let the pages of Sacred Self-Care guide you toward a more intentional wellness journey throughout and beyond Lent.
Participants will receive:
Weekly wisdom from Dr. Chanequa, including tips for deepening your self-care practices
Daily prompts related to the day's reading and practice
Support from an online community of self-care sojourners
Access to Zoom events (planned for February 17 and March 30 at 11am ET)
What you’ll need to do

What’s next
In the next few days, you’ll get another post from me introducing myself and our co-facilitator, Dr. Tiffany Stubbs. Then on Monday, you’ll start receiving the daily prompts. If you’d prefer not to get a daily email, you can set your Substack settings to only send the posts via the app. Make sure to allow notifications to get the reminder.
I’m looking forward to sharing this sacred season with you!
I hope I’ve signed up for the Lent study …. I can’t figure out how to subscribe to the Lenten study in the app. I’m not the best with tech and I just downloaded the substack app specifically for access to all your content. Is there a simple how to guide doing this?
